Professor Schippers, speaking on a personal note, tells about the research she did regarding the ripple effects of the non-pharmaceutical interventions, such as lockdowns, curfews etc. that have had a profound effect on the economy and well-being of billions of people world-wide. Her most recent paper, with John Ioannidis, Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology and Population Health, as well as professor of statistics and of biomedical data science. Prof. Ioannidis is one of the most cited researchers in the world. A second co-author on this paper is Ari Joffe, clinical professor at the University of Alberta.
